A  special introduction-to-KHA day will be held at the Namadgi Visitor Centre at 9am, Saturday 4 November aimed at new members and those interested in joining KHA.

KHA has planned an event to introduce you to our organisation, some of our people, some of the huts and describe some of KHA’s activities. Morning tea and Lunch will be  provided.

After lunch we will take you on a field trip to visit some of the more interesting huts and sites in Namadgi National Park.

Our committee is keen to welcome you to find out about our successful organisation which is in its 45th year and warmly invite you to come along on 4 November.

Saturday 4 November: arrive Namadgi Visitor Centre for a cuppa at 9.00am followed by a session in Visitor Centre theatre on the origins of KHA, our relationships with NPWS and Parks ACT, and our activities

Lunch at noon provided by KHA

An afternoon field trip 1.00-4.00pm, visiting huts and sites along the old Bobeyan road with historical comments from Graham Scully on the Gudgenby prefab cottage, Foresters hut, Hospital creek hut, Frank and Jacks hut and Lutons crutching shed to view recent works and  hear from their caretakers.

Other places to be visited are the ruins of the Bobeyan homestead and other sites (graves, well, 1860’s hut foundations, orchard, dairy) and cairn marking the death of David Brayshaw in 1932.
